Fairport fire fighters were dispatched for the report of an elevator that stopped and then snapped with two men still inside. Further updates reported there was also a fork lift in the elevator and the men were trapped under it. First arriving units confirmed the report of two victims trapped under a fork lift and multiple additional heavy rescues were dispatched to the scene. Altogether, heavy rescues from Fairport, Egypt, Penfield, Bushnell's Basin and Pittsford were called to the scene along with numerous other companies moved up to fill-in and cover the town for other alarms. The first victim was removed about an hour into the incident and the second, more seriously injured victim, was removed in about three hours.
