| Large Rubbish Fire at High Acres Landfill |
| Fairport fire fighters responded for the multiple calls reporting mulch burning at the High Acres Landfill. First arriving units found multiple large piles of mulch and branches burning. With no hydrants near the scene, fire fighters setup two drafting operations from a pond nearing 1800 feet away as well as a tanker relay to fight the fire from the other side. Fire fighters from dozens of departments from three counties were on scene for over 12 hours. |
